The Whales of Patagonia

This project was carried out in Península Valdés, in Argentine Patagonia, between the years 2000 and 2012.

This area is located on the Atlantic coast of the province of Chubut, 2500 km south of Buenos Aires. It is a reserve recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

During the austral winter it becomes the mating and calving area of the southern right whale (Eubalaena australis).

Throughout these years, the aim has been to capture images of this whale species’ behavior in order to make it known, since it is on the verge of extinction in the Northern Hemisphere.
